To format the text of the messages sent by iOS, however, start the official app of WhatsApp, select the chat of your interest and type the message to be formatted in the input bar.
Then select the message by double tap on it and press on the B I U that appears on the screen. Now, in the menu that opens, select the option Bold, Italic, Strikethrough or Monospaced, depending on how you want to format the text of your message and you’re done.

To choose the font and background color of the WhatsApp Status on Android, first start the official app of the service, tap on the Status tab (above) and press on the gray pencil symbol on a white background (bottom right) .
In the screen that opens, type the phrase you want to publish on your state, tap the symbol of the T (lower left) to select one of the five available fonts and press on the symbol of the palette to change the background color. If you are satisfied with the result, publish the state by tapping on the airplane symbol (bottom right).
If, instead, you want to publish in your State a photo containing some text superimposed, presses the symbol of the white camera on a green background (bottom left, a little ‘below the symbol of the gray pencil) and choose the photo you want to use on your state by selecting one from the gallery or, alternatively, take a picture at the moment by pressing on the symbol of the central ring.
Now, press on the symbol of the T (top right), type the word or phrase you want to use, change the color by sliding your finger on the colored bar located on the right and press the symbol (v) to imprint it on the image. If you wish, move the writing to where you want to drag it with your finger and zoom in or out by opening or closing your thumb and forefinger. As soon as you are satisfied with the result, tap the airplane located at the bottom right to publish the update.

To choose the font and background color of WhatsApp Status on iOS, start the app of the same name on your iPhone, tap on the Status item (bottom left) and press on the pencil symbol placed at the bottom of your name to create a “textual” state.
In the screen that opens, type the text you want to publish in your State, presses the symbol of the T (top right) to select one of the available fonts, tap the palette symbol (always top right) to change the background color and publish the state by pressing the symbol of the airplane on a light blue background (bottom right).
If, on the other hand, you want to create a state containing a photo with overlay text, tap the camera symbol (still in the Status menu) and choose a photo from the gallery or click one at the moment by pressing the ring symbol.
At this point, tap the T icon (top right), type with the keyboard the text you want to imprint on the image and change the color by sliding your finger on the colored bar on the right. If you want, move the writing by dragging it with a finger anywhere in the image and zoom in or out by opening or closing your thumb and index finger. When the work is finished, publish the image containing the modified text by pressing the symbol of the airplane on a light blue background (bottom right).
