How to connect smartwatch to the phone

How to connect smartwatch

You can associate a smartwatch with a smartphone through the procedures that will follow in the next paragraphs; but you must keep in mind a few small precautions. First of all, keep in mind that a smartwatch can make a connection to a smartphone, but only to a mobile device at a time. You will therefore not be able to make a simultaneous connection with multiple devices. However, if you want to associate the smartwatch first with a smartphone and then subsequently with another, you can do so, provided you delete the pairing with the first device.

In this specific case, if you have already paired with a smartphone, you can disassociate it by reaching the Settings on your smartwatch. Then select the System item and tap Disconnect and reset. Then confirm the removal of the association by tapping on the icon with the check mark.

How to connect smartwatch to Android

How to connect smartwatch

If this is the first time you connect the smartwatch to an Android smartphone, you will first need to download the free Android Wear app to your smartphone, which you can find available on the PlayStore.

After downloading it and installing it on your smartphone (to do it, tap on Install and then on Accept), turn on the smartwatch and select the English language. Tap the checkmark icon to agree to the license agreement. From now on you will have to proceed exclusively from smartphones to continue configuring your smartwatch and then pairing with it.

Open the Android Wear app on your smartphone and tap the Configure button. Then tap on Allow the various windows that will appear for permissions to access the features of your device. Then tap the name of the smartwatch that will appear on the display of your smartphone and wait until you receive a code on the screen. This code must be the same on both devices. If they are the same, then the connection between smartwatch and Android smartphone has been successful. Then tap the checkmark on the box that appears on your smartphone and tap the Pair button.

At this point, the configuration will be almost completed; a screen will appear on your smartphone to confirm the transfer of the account. Select the account to transfer and tap Next and then Copy. If asked, enter the password of the account you are associating with your smartwatch and tap Connect. Then tap Next> Next> Next and then Finish. Tap on Allow the various windows that should appear for access to permissions.

If you followed the procedure I showed you, you will have paired with your smartphone. In this way, the smartwatch will be connected to your Android smartphone and you can receive notifications, reply to messages and, if this feature is available on your smartwatch, make and answer calls.

Subsequently, every time you activate the bluetooth on the smartphone and the smartwatch, they will automatically connect. If the connection does not happen, from your smartwatch tap on the Settings app and then on Connectivity. Then tap on Bluetooth and then move the lever from left to right with a tap on it, so as to activate the bluetooth. If the bluetooth is already active, you will find the name of the Android device in the list that will appear on the display of the smartwatch. Tap the name of your smartphone to activate the connection between them.

How to connect smartwatch to iPhone

How to connect smartwatch

You can connect between a smartwatch and an iPhone just as easily. I therefore invite you to pay attention, because in the following lines I will explain how to proceed, step by step.

First, proceed by downloading and installing the Android Wear app from the iOS App Store. To do this, tap on Get and then Install and, if required, type in the password of your iCloud account or use the Touch ID. Start your smartwatch and select English from the language menu. Then accept the license agreement, by tapping on the icon with the check mark. Now you will be asked to proceed through your iPhone. As a result, open the Android Wear app by tapping on its icon from the Home Screen of your Apple device.

After you open the app, immediately tap the Configure button and then click Accept. Then tap on Activate to enable bluetooth sharing on your iPhone. Then press OK to make your device visible. Now you can see the name of your smartwatch on the screen: tap on it and then on combines. You can then display a confirmation code that must be the same as the one shown on the smartwatch display. If so, then it means that the connection between the two devices has been successful. Then tap on Confirm.

Wait a few seconds, so you can reach the screen for the association of your Google account. Tap the lever at the Google account you want to associate with your smartwatch and tap Next. Then type the password in the text field that appears on the screen and tap on Login. Now tap again on Next and then on Sync. Press OK to synchronize the data between the smartphone and the smartwatch. Tap again on Next and then on Allow. If you are asked to activate the location, turn it on by tapping Settings and then moving the lever from left to right. Go back to the Android Wear app and tap on Fine.

Following this procedure that I have provided you, you can then use the connection between the two devices to view notifications on the smartwatch and take advantage of all the compatible features between the two devices.

The connection between smartwatch and iPhone will occur automatically every time, as long as both have active bluetooth. If this is not the case, from your smartwatch go to Settings and then tap on Connectivity> Bluetooth. Then tap on the Bluetooth voice to activate it, in case it is deactivated. If the bluetooth is already active, you can view your iPhone in the list that will appear on the display of the smartwatch. Tap the name of your iPhone to connect between them.

How to connect smartwatch to the Internet

How to connect smartwatch

If the smartwatch you are using has a Wi-Fi antenna, you can connect it to the Internet, without the need for Bluetooth connection to the smartphone. In this way, the smartwatch can easily access the Internet for all the features related to navigation, such as the ability to receive emails or messages on instant messaging applications.

However, access to the Wi-Fi network requires entry of the password if the network you want to access is protected. In case the smartwatch does not allow you to enter the Wi-Fi access password directly from the display, then you will need to synchronize the access data to the Wi-Fi network using your smartphone.

The first step is to connect your smartwatch to your smartphone via bluetooth. You can refer to the procedures I have indicated in the previous paragraphs to perform this procedure.

Then, simply turn on Wi-Fi on your smartphone, but without access to the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect on the smartwatch. Also make sure you have the Android Wear app installed on your smartphone, which you can download for free from the Android PlayStore or the iOS App Store.

From your smartwatch, open the Settings app. You can also access the settings with a swipe from top to bottom on the dial display and select the gear symbol icon. Select the Connectivity item and then tap on Wi-Fi. If the Wi-Fi connection is off, tap the Wi-Fi voice to change it from Not active to Automatic. From the screen that appears, scroll and tap the Add network entry, then select the Wi-Fi network you want to access. Tap the Insert button on the phone to continue the password entry procedure via smartphone.

A window should now appear on your smartphone with a message asking you to enter the password of the Wi-Fi network that you have selected on the smartwatch. In case the window does not appear, wait just a few minutes or tap the Android Wear app installed on your smartphone.

In the window that appeared, enter the password for the Wi-Fi network and tap the Connect button. In this way you will have synchronized the data access to the Wi-Fi network from the smartphone to the smartwatch. The latter then will be connected to the Wi-Fi network and you can then decide to disable the Bluetooth connection to use it in full autonomy, without the need to remain connected to the smartphone.

If your smartwatch, in addition to being equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, also has a SIM slot, you can make an Internet connection using the data network of your rate plan. The data network management options can be found by accessing the settings of the smartwatch and reaching the item Connectivity. You will find an entry with the word Cellular type or SIM that will refer to the possibility to connect via packet data.
