How to disable Google Now
Android is the system that ensures the highest level of integration with Google Now, the one that allows you to take full advantage of its full potential. If you use a terminal based on this platform and want to know how to disable Google Now, take five minutes of free time and put into practice the suggestions I am about to give you.
How to disable Google Now gesture
Do you want to prevent Google Now or the new Google Assistant from automatically activating when you swipe the Home button on your smartphone? Then open the Settings menu of Android (the gear icon that is on the home screen or the screen with the list of all the apps installed on the device), go to Applications or App and presses on the gear icon that you find at the top.
In the screen that opens, select the item Default apps, then the Assistance and voice input and set the App service option to None. In this way, by making a swipe on the Home button nothing will happen again and Google Now will not be activated.
If you use a terminal on which a version of Android with a custom interface is installed, you may need to select slightly different items in the settings menu. For example, if you’re using a Huawei device with an EMUI interface, you need to go to the App, activate the Advanced tab, select the Default settings> Support and voice commands and set the Assistance app option to None.

If you can not get the desired result with the above procedure, try installing Swipeup Utility: this is a free app that allows you to “free” the gesture of the Home button and remove the association between Google Now and the quest ‘last. Using it, you can completely remove the gesture of the Home button or associate it with another action, such as launching an app of your choice.
To use Swipeup Utility, all you have to do is download it from the Google Play Store, start it and press the OK button. You will be automatically redirected to the settings for apps for Android support and voice commands: then tap the Assistance app item and choose Swipeup Utility from the box that appears on the screen. Then confirm by replying Accept to the warning that is shown to you.
Once you’ve associated Swipeup Utility with the Home button gesture, you can choose what to do instead of starting Google Now. Then start Swipeup Utility by selecting its icon from the Android drawer, presses on the item Choose action and choose the action you want to make your smartphone when you swipe from bottom to top on the Home key: Nothing for nothing; Quick search for the search; Recent apps to view the list of recently used apps and so on.

If you change your mind, you can go back at any time and choose a new action from the Swipeup Utility’s internal menu.
How to disable Google Now page
Are you bothered by the Google Now page that appears when you swipe to the left on your smartphone’s home screen? In this case, the most effective solution you can take is to change the launcher, ie change the application that manages the home screen of your Android device.
Personally I suggest you turn to New Launcher, which is extremely light and allows you to deeply customize all aspects of the Android home screen (including the display of Google Now, which is turned off by default). Nova Launcher can be downloaded and used for free without any time limitation, however, I would like to point out that a paid version is available (which costs € 3, even if it is often at a discounted price) that offers additional features, such as creating folders in the app drawer and the ability to hide apps.
To set Nova Launcher as the default launcher on your device, download the application from the Play Store, then go to the Android Settings menu (the gear icon located on the home screen or the screen with the list of all installed apps on the device), go to Home page and select New Launcher from the menu that opens. Now press the Home button on your smartphone or tablet and you will find a new home screen managed by Nova Launcher without the Google Now screen.
If you’re using a version of Android with a custom interface, you should be able to set the default system launcher slightly different than what you’ve just seen together. For example, if you use a Huawei device equipped with the EMUI interface, to set the default launcher go to the Settings> App menu, activate the Advanced tab, select the Default settings> App launcher and choose New Launcher from the screen that opens .

How to disable Google Now cards
Do not want to disable the Google Now page but only the cards with the news inside? So know that you do not have to change the launcher or install third-party applications.
All you have to do is open the Google app or go to the Google Now page that is activated by swiping it to the left in the launcher, pressing the ≡ button and going to Settings.
On the screen that opens, tap the item Your feed, move the lever on the Show feed option to OFF and you’re done: by accessing the Google Now page or opening the Google app, you’ll find the search bar of “big G” but not the news selected for you by the Mountain View giant.

If you change your mind, of course, you can retrace your steps by accessing the settings of the Google app and reactivating the functions you have disabled previously. Easier than that ?!
How to disable Google Now voice commands
If you want to disable the Google Assistant, the evolution of Google Now that allows you to give voice commands to the phone, launch apps and receive information of any kind from the Internet using your voice (I have spoken in detail in my tutorial on how to activate Google Assistant), start the Google application, presses the ≡ button and go to Settings.
In the screen that opens, presses on the Settings item related to the Google Assistant, go to Phone and move to the OFF the lever located next to the Google Assistant: doing so you will not be able to call Google Assistant or within the Google app nor in the launcher of your device (pronouncing the phrase “Ok Google” or doing a swipe on the Home key).
